OUR STORY
The Beginning: A Mother's Legacy
It all started with my mom’s stories about crafts.
As a child, I would sit beside her, listening to tales woven with threads — of fabrics, embroideries, and the timeless beauty of Indian handwork. She would gently show me the pieces she had made in her younger days — delicate dupattas, hand-stitched pieces, little swatches of fabric that held not just stitches but memories.
Every piece told a story, and every story planted a seed in my heart.
A Way of Life, Slowly Forgotten
In her time, knowing about crafts wasn’t rare — it was a way of life. Every woman knew the difference between weaves, could identify an embroidery by touch, and had something handmade in her wardrobe. But as the years passed, I saw those traditions slowly fading.
People were forgetting the beauty, the effort, the heritage behind what was once so deeply loved.
A Shared Dream: The Birth of Kaladori
That’s when Kaladori was born — not just from a desire to preserve what was being forgotten, but as a shared dream between me and my younger sister. From the very beginning, she has been my biggest supporter and the silent force behind everything we've built.
Her unwavering belief in this vision, her creativity, and her strength have been my backbone. Together, we decided to bring our mother’s legacy into a new light — one that bridges the past and the present.
Crafting Heritage for Today
At Kaladori, we celebrate India’s rich legacy of crafts by creating clothing that’s deeply rooted in tradition but thoughtfully designed for today. Our aim is simple yet powerful — to bring every “kala” of India into every wardrobe, reimagined in contemporary silhouettes and offered in a wide variety of styles and sizes.
Because we believe that heritage should be accessible, wearable, and made for every body.
Stories Stitched with Soul
Each piece is made with love by skilled artisans, crafted in inclusive sizes, and brought to life through silhouettes that go beyond the ordinary. We don’t just sell garments — we share stories stitched with soul.
A Tribute to Family, Tradition, and Sisterhood
Through Kaladori, I honour my mother’s love for handmade beauty, and I carry forward the magic she passed on to me — one handcrafted piece at a time. And every step of this journey is made more meaningful by walking it hand-in-hand with my sister.
Kaladori is our tribute — to tradition, to family, and to the timeless beauty of Indian craft.
